GrandVerify Privacy Policy

GrandVerify is provided by Grand Metalworks Limited. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the GrandVerify application and website.

1. Information stored by GrandVerify

GrandVerify is designed primarily as a locally operated application. Depending on how the application is used, information stored on the user's device may include:

• Local user names and authentication information
• Project names and references
• Opening measurement and verification data
• Datum and laser setup information
• DXF data and files
• PDF reports
• Photographs
• Notes and sketches
• Project documents
• Application settings and preferences

This information is used to provide the measurement, verification, project and reporting functions of GrandVerify.

2. Where information is stored

In the current version of GrandVerify, application and project information is stored primarily on the user's device.

Users may also choose to save or export completed project information, reports and other files to a location selected by the user.

GrandVerify does not currently provide Grand Metalworks cloud storage for project information.

Depending on your device settings, operating-system backups may include application information. If you select a cloud-synchronised export folder or share files through another application, that provider may store or process copies under its own privacy policy. You control these backup, export and sharing choices.

3. Information transmitted to Grand Metalworks Limited

The current version of GrandVerify does not automatically upload project information, measurements, photographs, notes or documents to Grand Metalworks Limited.

GrandVerify does not currently use a Grand Metalworks analytics or telemetry service to automatically transmit application usage or project information to us.

Information may be provided to Grand Metalworks Limited if a user chooses to contact us for support, for example by email. In that case, we will receive the information that the user chooses to provide.

Android subscriptions

For Android subscriptions, GrandVerify sends a Google Play purchase token over an encrypted connection to our subscription-verification service, hosted on Google Cloud. The service uses this token to check subscription status with Google Play and acknowledge eligible purchases. This processing enables subscription access and purchase restoration.

The verification request does not include your project measurements, photographs, notes, exported documents or local account password. Google Play handles payment processing; GrandVerify does not receive your payment-card details.

Google Cloud processes technical request information, which may include your IP address, request time, client information and response status. Our verification service records limited diagnostic information, such as error categories, to investigate failures. Its application logging does not record purchase tokens or full Google Play purchase responses.

Google also processes subscription and payment information under its own terms and Privacy Policy. Our verification service is deployed in Google Cloud's London region; Google may process some service information internationally as described in its applicable terms and privacy information.

4. Local user accounts

GrandVerify uses local device user accounts to control access to the application. These are not currently GrandVerify cloud accounts.

Authentication information associated with these local accounts is stored locally by the application.

5. Photographs and files

GrandVerify allows photographs and other project information to form part of a survey record.

Users are responsible for ensuring that they have the appropriate authority to capture, store and use photographs and other information entered into GrandVerify.

GrandVerify accesses photographs or files only where required by application functionality and subject to the permissions provided by the user and the operating system.

6. Internet connectivity

The core GrandVerify measurement and project workflow does not currently require continuous internet access.

An internet connection is required to purchase, restore and verify Android subscriptions. Completing an opening may require an online subscription check. Measurement and project functions that do not require this check can be used without continuous internet access.

Where the way GrandVerify handles information materially changes, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.

7. Data retention and deletion

Project and application information stored locally remains on the device unless it is deleted through the application, removed by the user, or otherwise removed from the device.

Files exported from GrandVerify are controlled by the user and remain in the locations to which the user has chosen to save them.

Users should maintain appropriate backups of information they need to retain. Deleting local project information does not automatically delete exported, shared or backed-up copies; these must be managed in their respective storage locations.

The Android verification service processes purchase tokens to perform subscription checks and does not maintain its own purchase-token database. Technical request and diagnostic logs are subject to the retention settings of the hosting services. Google Play retains its own purchase records under its policies. Deleting GrandVerify or a local project does not cancel a Google Play subscription; subscriptions can be managed in Google Play.

Support correspondence is handled to respond to your enquiry and any related follow-up. Contact support@grandverify.com for information about retention or to request access, correction or deletion of personal information we hold. Requests are considered subject to applicable legal obligations and any necessary retention of records.

8. Data security

Grand Metalworks Limited takes reasonable steps in the design of GrandVerify to protect information handled by the application.

Users and organisations are also responsible for maintaining appropriate security for the devices, accounts, files and storage locations on which GrandVerify information is held.

No method of electronic storage or security can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

9. Children's privacy

GrandVerify is a professional measurement and verification application and is not intended for use by children.

10. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as GrandVerify develops or where legal, regulatory or operational requirements change.

The current version will be made available through the GrandVerify website or support pages.

11. Website analytics and your choices

The website uses optional Google Analytics 4 to understand page visits and clicks on App Store links. It is loaded only after you choose Accept analytics. Rejecting analytics does not affect the website, video, support links or app downloads.

If you accept, Google processes information such as pages visited, referral information, browser and device information, and interactions with download links. Google Analytics uses cookies including _ga and _ga_2YNDXB4LYT. We configure their expiry to a maximum of six months. We disable Google signals and advertising personalisation in the website configuration.

We rely on your consent for this optional analytics. Use Analytics settings in the footer to change your choice at any time. Rejecting after accepting disables further analytics and removes accessible Google Analytics cookies on this domain; it does not delete information already collected. We store your choice in this browser for six months. If browser storage is unavailable, your choice lasts only for the current page.

Google may process information outside the UK. See Google’s Privacy Policy for its processing and safeguards. The hosting provider also processes technical request information needed to deliver and protect the website, independently of optional analytics.

Contact us using the details below about your personal information or applicable access, correction and deletion rights. You may also raise a concern with the Information Commissioner’s Office.
